Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on Monday to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where he strongly condemned all forms targeting civilians, particularly women and children.
During the conversation, President Putin briefed Netanyahu on Russia’s efforts to deescalate the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict in Gaza Strip and prevent expansion of the conflict to wider area, according to a Kremlin statement.
He highlighted the need to ward off the humanitarian disaster looming large in the Strip, the statement noted.
President Putin also apprised Netanyahu of the outcomes of the contacts he has made with leaders of Iran, Egypt, Syria and Palestine, reiterating Russia’s stance against the ongoing the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation and support to resolving the conflict through peaceful diplomatic means.
