Death toll of Pakistan suicide blast rises to 46

Death toll from the suicide blast that took place in Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) convention in Pakistan rose to 46, said officials Monday.

District Medical Superintendent of the Khar hospital told media that the death toll increased to 46, including five children.

Earlier on Sunday, at least 35 people lost their lives while around 150 others received injuries in a blast targeting JUI-F convention in the Khar tehsil of KPK’s Bajaur tribal district bordering Afghanistan. Hundreds of party workers along with local leaders were present at the gathering when the blast occurred. The religious political party’s local leaders were among the dead.

According to Senior Superintendent Police Amjad Khan, more than 10 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack, whom no group has so far claimed responsibility for.
