President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired Sunday, at the People’s Palace in Algiers, a ceremony awarding the best laureates of the Baccalaureate and Intermediate School Examinations (BEM) in 2023, who received medals, gifts and financial rewards.
The awarding ceremony took place at the Palace of People, in the presence of the State’s top officials and members of the government as well as the families of the honoured laureates.
The President of the Republic honoured the student Benkeddache Mohamed Lamine from Colonel Ali Tounsi High School in the province of Relizane, who obtained the best average grade in Algeria (19.50) in experimental science, followed by the student Daachi Oussama from Mohamed Cherif Amokrane High School in the province of Setif with an average grade of 19.32 obtained in experimental science, then Helal Imene Fatma-Zohra from Abdelmoumene High School in the province of Saida who ranked third nationwide (19.32).
President Tebboune honoured also the student Mohamed Lamine Chaouchi from the province of Algiers, who obtained his baccalaureate in Mathematics with an average grade of 19.13, as well as Ines Sekfali from Jijel in technical mathematics with an average grade of 19.12/20.
The student Abdelwahed Bousaid from Naama, registered in the School of the Cadets of the Nation of Oran “Martyr Hamdani Adda,” who obtained 19.02 in mathematics, was also honoured by the President of the Republic.
For the category of students with special needs, the President of the Republic awarded a distinction to Alaa Menasria from Biskra (motor disability) who ranked first nationwide in experimental sciences with an average grade of 18.02.
President Tebboune honoured the best laureates in the Intermediate School Examination nationwide, namely Maria Mazouzi from the province of Batna, who obtained an average grade of 19.95/20, followed by the student Loucif Hanine from El Oued (19.93), as well as the two students Sami Nait Seghir from Algiers (19.92/20) and Adam Meghlali from Djelfa (19.92/20).
Ziad Kedrez from the School of Cadets of the Nation of Bejaia, who got an average grade of 19.42, was also honoured by the President of the Republic who also awarded the student with special needs Abdelwahab Neggazi from the province of Algiers, who obtained an average grade of 12.04.
In this regard, President Tebboune honoured the two students who won the bronze medals in the International Olympiad of Mathematics, organized recently in Japan, namely Derrache Chemseddine Abdelali and Youcef Kenane from the Maths High School “Mohand Mokhbi” in Kouba.
During this ceremony, the speaker of the Council of the Nation Salah Goudjil, the speaker of the People’s National Assembly Brahim Boughali, Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the head of the Constitutional Court Oamr Belhadj, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister of National Education Abdelhakim Belaabed, as well as members of the government also awarded distinctions to a number of laureates in the Baccalaureate and Intermediate School Examinations.
At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Republic took a souvenir photo with the honoured laureates.
