The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will “shortly” begin implementing measures in preparation for the new agricultural season, notably to protect farming activities against various risks, the sector’s minister, Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni, said in Algiers on Thursday.
In statements to the press at the Council of the Nation, on the sidelines of the closing of the 2022-2023 ordinary parliamentary session, Henni said that “measures will be taken as soon as possible, in addition to the previous measures applied to launch the next agricultural season in the best possible conditions.”
These will also include “measures to protect all farmers,” he added.
