Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmad Aboul-Gheit and EU High Representative Josep Borrell affirmed on Sunday previously agreed constants for making just and permanent peace in Palestine according to international legitimacy resolutions.
In a press release, the Arab League said that this came during a meeting held at its headquarters in Cairo, during which both sides discussed the historical relations between the two organizations, several topics of common interests, latest regional developments, and the Palestinian issue in particular.
Both sides stressed the importance of an independent Palestinian state, the Arabic peace initiative and the two-state solution, it said.
They also discussed the crises of Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Ukraine, it added.
