The French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna reaffirmed Paris’s full support to Tunisia’s economic reforms and efforts to ensure development and preserve the country’s social model.
During her first meeting with Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar in Paris on Tuesday, Colonna assessed the main areas of cooperation, according to a statement from her ministry.
She expressed France’s support to Tunisia in the ongoing negotiations with the International Monetary Fund.
Both sides discussed cooperation in the fields of immigration and the combat against smuggling as well as the possibility of scaling up collaboration with European partners, the statement noted.
They also discusses the situation in the Mediterranean and the Middle East as well as the issues of human rights and public freedoms in different parts of the world, it added.
