“As part of the monitoring of the repercussions of the recent bad weather, two deaths have been recorded. A 7-year-old girl was reported missing in the municipality of Bouhachana (Guelma), her body washed away and was found 5 kilometres from her home, and a 9-year-old boy in the municipality of Khemisti (Tipasa) who died from his injuries caused by the collapse of the wall of a local stadium, said the source.
“Several houses, buildings and public structures, particularly educational, were damaged by seepage and rising rainwater levels,” added the source.
“Road traffic has been restored in several provinces following the completion of water pumping operations on the submerged roads and lanes, while authorities and services remain present and mobilized until the situation returns to normal,” the source concluded.
