Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Fayçal Bentaleb has highlighted Algeria’s commitment, since its independence, to enshrine the fundamental values of the International and Arab Labour Organisations (ILO and UNWTO), notably the principle of tripartite and the creation of a favourable climate for the benefit of stakeholders in the world of work, the ministry said on Tuesday in a statement.
[ECR] In his speech on the occasion of Algeria’s participation with a tripartite delegation delegation on Monday to the 49th session of the Arab Labour Conference in Cairo Arab Labour Conference in Cairo (Egypt), Bentaleb noted “the exceptional and Bentaleb noted “the exceptional and particular context of this meeting which implies greater Arab cooperation in various fields to ensure a better future for future generations,” stressing that Algeria has worked, since its independence, to “enshrine the fundamental values of the UNWTO and the ATO, including the principle of tripartite and the establishment of a climate of understanding for the benefit of stakeholders in the world of work.
“The multiple opportunities for consultation and social dialogue offered in Algeria have enabled the socio-economic partners to enshrine the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the 2020 Constitution, which has strengthened the protection of democratic rights and freedoms, particularly in the area of trade union freedoms.”
The Minister further mentioned “the of two new laws, one relating to the exercise of the right to organise, and another on the prevention and settlement of collective labour disputes and the exercise of the right to strike,” which constitute “a new milestone which will be added to our country’s achievements in the field of promoting social dialogue and enshrining the values of consultation and peace in the world of work.
